The Brief

The requirement was for a palletising cell to handle buckets of compound and bagged powder compound simultaneously for a company that specializes in the manufacture and distribution of cement and bitumen.

Our Approach

The solution was to provide a twin Robot Palletising cell and to split the delivery of products with the buckets delivered on the upper tier and sacks on the lower tier into a twin robot cell each with a gripper to handle either buckets or sacks.

A slip sheet dispenser would be installed to apply bottom paper sheets to the pallet as it passes below on the pallet delivery conveyor. We would use a pallet positioner at the loading station adjacent to the roller. The pallet then moved onto the shuttle car at the transfer position.

The Results

As a result, we supplied, delivered, installed and commissioned a turnkey installation comprising of:

  • Supply Bucket Conveyor system, roller, transport slat and accumulation slat with singulation escapement.
  • Modify existing system roller conveyors for bag palletiser
  • Support both 2 tier and single tier were required.
