Providing a turnkey solution for our client in the automotive sector

The Brief
We were asked to provide a turnkey operation in a paint shop for the automotive sector that would enable the operators to stand up beneath a conveyed vehicle body to support production of the said motor range.
Our Approach
Our approach was to remove the existing steel flooring and replace with access stairways and hand railing to provide access to the new pit, making good the flooring where original steel supports were fixed.
Here, we also needed to remove or reroute existing lighting as well as visible services within station 21 to create clear and accessible area for the proposed civil works to be carried out.
We also drained down a section of sprinkler pipe above the area to enable the sprinkler pipe below station 21 to be rerouted.
We repositioned lighting and existing emergency stops as well as repositioning the existing push button stations and the compressed air points. We also relocated the RFID tag currently on existing flooring.
During the project, we supplied and installed 2 line side (station 21) safety hand rails, approx. 6 metres in length. These were secured and fixed to the floor surface.
As well as this, we provided side covers for the conveyor and a standby for system start up.
